If you want to get your house clean but you don't have a lot of time, you're probably looking for some simple solutions. Some of the most difficult places to clean are in your bathroom and kitchen, including the mirrors, toilets, and microwave. Soap scum, lime deposits, and caked-on food can require some serious elbow grease. Luckily, there are some easy tricks that will cut the time it takes to get those areas clean.

Super Simple Mirror Cleaners

Soap scum and hard water deposits can make it nearly impossible to clean your bathroom mirrors. Ordinary window cleaner will shine the mirrors but they won't remove the really tough scum. Here are two simple ways to remove the buildup and keep it off.

Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol will cut right through the soap scum and hard water stains. Simply fill a spray bottle with 2 cups of water and 1 cup of rubbing alcohol. Spray the solution on your mirrors and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Wipe the mirrors clean with a soft cloth or newspaper. Your mirrors will be sparkling clean.

Shaving Cream

Once you have the soap film and hard water stains removed, you want to make sure they stay gone. Get a clean sponge wet and squeeze out the excess water. Place a generous amount of shaving cream on the sponge and rub it on your mirror. Wipe the shaving cream off with a soft cloth. The shaving cream will form a protective seal over your mirrors.

Speedy Toilet Bowl Cleaner

If the toilet bowls are coated with lime deposits, you don't have to spend hours scrubbing them. Toss in a few denture cleaning tablets and let them soak for about 30 minutes. Do a light scrubbing with your toilet brush to remove the lime deposits and then flush them away. To keep the lime deposits away, toss in a few denture tablets each week.

Magical Microwave Cleaner

The microwave can get coated with cooked on food and grease. Unfortunately, once your microwave is dirty, it can be tough to get clean. This simple solution will have the inside of the microwave sparkling in no time at all. Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water. Add ½ cup of lemon juice and place the bowl inside the microwave.

Turn the microwave on to high and heat for about 15 minutes. Leave the bowl inside the microwave for an additional 15 minutes. This will allow the steam to soften the caked-on food and grease. Remove the bowl and wipe down the inside of the microwave with a clean sponge.

You don't want to spend hours cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. These easy tricks will help you get the job done quicker. If you have more deep cleaning to do in other areas of the house but really can't find the time to handle them, consider a house cleaning service near you.
